GDK Series Metallurgical Rail Weighing System (Composite Sensor, Static & Dynamic)
The GDK Series is the most versatile addition to our Metallurgical Rail Weighing System family, engineered for the extreme environments of steel mills and coking plants. Designed specifically for hot metal ladle cars (torpedo cars), coal charging cars, and coke dry quenching (CDQ) cars, it offers ultimate operational flexibility by supporting both static and dynamic (in-motion) weighing without the need for rail cuts or foundation pits.
Composite Sensor Structure for Ultimate Precision
To overcome the limitations of single-sensor designs, the GDK Series utilizes a unique composite sensor architecture:
-
Insert-Type Sensors: Installed directly into the rail web to measure micro-deformation, providing exceptional structural stability and eliminating track displacement.
-
Rail-Pad Sensors: Positioned under the rail foot to directly measure vertical forces and distribute the load evenly.
This dual-sensor integration effectively cancels out lateral forces, eccentric loads, and mechanical vibrations. It ensures highly accurate data output whether the heavy locomotive is stationary or moving.
Continuous Rail & Pitless Design
The GDK Series features a true continuous-rail (uninterrupted track) and pitless design.
-
Continuous Rail: There is no need to cut the existing track. The absence of rail joints avoids track climbing and impact shocks, ensuring a smoother and safer passage for heavy ladles and CDQ cars.
-
Zero Pit Maintenance: No foundation pit is required. This drastically reduces civil engineering costs and prevents the accumulation of water, debris, iron scale, and slag—making daily operations virtually maintenance-free.
Static and Dynamic Weighing Capabilities
The GDK system adapts to your specific process control needs:
-
Static Weighing: Provides maximum accuracy for commercial settlement and precise material batching when the vehicle is completely stopped on the weighing zone.
-
Dynamic Weighing: Enables automatic, in-motion weighing at low speeds as the train passes over the scale. This significantly improves logistics throughput without interrupting the harsh continuous production cycles of steelmaking and coking operations.
Built for Extreme Metallurgical Environments
Whether deployed under blast furnace tapholes, coke oven batteries, or CDQ chambers, the system faces intense radiant heat, heavy dust, and corrosive gases. The GDK sensors and cables are heavily protected with specialized thermal isolation and IP68/IP69 sealing, ensuring continuous and reliable operation where conventional systems fail.
